The Israeli army approves the "next stage" plan for the Gaza war, and demonstrations in Israel demanding an end to the war and the return of the hostages

On Sunday, the Israeli army announced the approval of the "next stage" plan for the war in the Gaza Strip, stressing the focus on Gaza City with the aim of "eliminating" Hamas.

A military statement quoted the Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir as saying: "We will keep the momentum achieved in Gideon's vehicles with the focus of the effort in Gaza City. We will continue the attack until the elimination of Hamas, and the kidnapped in front of our eyes," indicating that the liberation of the hostages who are still being held in Gaza is "priority."

According to Zamir, "Gideon's vehicles" have achieved their goals, and Hamas no longer had the capabilities that had before the operation, and they were severely damaged, according to Kassyir.

He added: "The current battle is not a topical event, but rather another episode in a long -term and studied plan, within the framework of a multi -front vision targeting all components of the axis, headed by Iran."

In response, Hamas confirmed in a statement that the approval of the Israeli Army Chief of Staff "on the plans of the occupation of Gaza City and the acceleration of military operations there is a Zionist declaration of starting a new wave of brutal genocide and criminal displacement operations of hundreds of thousands of residents of Gaza City and the displaced to it."

She added that these plans are "a major war crime that reflects the occupation's recklessness of international and humanitarian laws," describing the talk about the introduction of tents in southern Gaza as "an open misinformation", and that "America's political and military support provides the green light for the continuation of the occupation in the crimes of genocide and ethnic cleansing," according to Hamas's description.

The Israeli army announced that today, Sunday, tents and shelters will enter the Gaza Strip with the aim of "transporting" the population to the south, in a move that Israel says is part of "humanitarian arrangements."

This comes in the wake of Israel's declaration of its intention to launch a new attack on the north of Gaza City, the largest population communities in the Strip, which raised international concerns about the conditions of the population in a destructive area inhabited by about 2.2 million people.

Israeli army spokesman Avichai Adraei said that the aid will enter through the Kerem Abu Salem crossing in coordination with the United Nations and international relief organizations, after undergoing security inspection by the Israeli Ministry of Defense.

On the other hand, the media advisor to UNRWA said that the agency "will not participate in any project aimed at forcing Gaza residents to displace," adding that the Israeli plans "not only aims to transfer the Palestinians inside the Strip, but to displace them."

In a related context, the Haaretz newspaper reported, quoting political sources, that Israel is preparing for the possibility of offering a partial or gradual proposal based on the initiative of Wittouf and previous understandings, noting that the mediators may soon submit a new proposal for an exchange deal in light of what was described as "possible flexibility" by Hamas in some controversial points.

Netanyahu: Stopping the war enhances the existence of Hamas

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, at the beginning of the government session, confirmed on Sunday that calls to end the war without eliminating Hamas represents a strengthening of its position and a delay in liberating the hostages, warning that this will lead to the repetition of the events of October 7, 2023.

Netanyahu stressed the need to complete the military operation and completely defeat Hamas, to ensure that the Gaza Strip does not remain a threat to Israel and to pay efforts to release the hostages.

The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on Saturday evening that Israel is ready to agree to an agreement, but according to conditions described as "strict".

The statement stated: "Israel will not agree unless the agreement includes the release of all hostages at once, and in line with its vision to end the war, which includes the disarmament of Hamas and the entire Gaza Strip, and ensuring Israeli control over the vicinity of the Strip, in addition to forming a new government that is not linked to Hamas or the Palestinian Authority and is committed to living in peace with Israel."

On the ground, at least 18 Palestinians were killed by the Israeli army fire today, Sunday, and in raids launched by warplanes on the Gaza Strip, according to the civil defense in the Strip.

Civil Defense spokesman Mahmoud Balis told Agence France -Presse that seven people were killed at dawn on Sunday in a blow carried out by an Israeli plane inside the square of Maedani Hospital in the Old City of Gaza City.

According to witnesses, Israeli warplanes launched dozens of air strikes at night and morning Sunday in different areas of the Gaza Strip.

On the other hand, Basal said that six people were killed and tens of others were wounded when the Israeli army opened fire near the Muraj junction, south of Khan Yunis, in the southern Gaza Strip, where thousands of Palestinians were waiting for aid.

In the context, the Gaza Strip hospitals recorded 7 new deaths, including two children, during the past 24 hours, as a result of starvation and malnutrition.

Thus, the total number of victims of famine and malnutrition rises to 251 people, including 110 children.

Demonstrations in Israel demanding an end to the war

Thousands of demonstrators went out, on Sunday, to the streets of several cities in Israel, demanding the cessation of the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip for 22 months, and to reach an agreement that restores the hostages held by Hamas.

The demonstrations came days after the Israeli security council approved plans to control Gaza City and the refugee camps surrounding it. In the "hostage field" in Tel Aviv, which became a symbol of the protests, the demonstrators raised a huge Israeli flag and pictures of the hostages, while closing main streets and igniting tires, according to local media.

The hostage family forum called for a comprehensive strike in the country. But the invitations were met with the rejection of the far -right ministers in the Netanyahu government. The Minister of Finance in Salail Smotrich said that the protests "serve the interests of Hamas", while the Minister of National Security, Itetar bin Ghaffir, considered that the strike was "failed" and that it "strengthens Hamas and undermines the chances of the hostages."

For his part, the opposition leader, Yair Lubid, responded, saying: "Do you not be ashamed? No one has strengthened Hamas more than you," calling for the overthrow of the government, which he described as "corrupt and failed."
